OM Ajit Karnik is son of VU2CK, my Guru, shared
his Golden days of Ham Radio
Ajit started Ham Radio Club in IIT Delhi and did a lot of projects which were published in ARSI’s Radio Magazine.
:OM Ajit received his B.Tech. (1973) and M.Tech. (1975) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
Then he pursued research in Robotics and Automation under the Canadian Commonwealth and Fellowship program, and received a Ph.D. (1985) from McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada.
He joined the Department of Electronics, Government of India, Delhi in 1976 and worked on several R&D projects in the Defence domain.
He was among the founding members for setting up the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) in 1988 as India’s initiative for Super Computer Param.
He worked in C-DAC until 2000, in several positions including Member Technical Staff, Centre Coordinator, and Director.
In 2001, he joined C-SAM Inc – a pioneer in advanced technology areas in the FinTech sector, set-up the Innovation and Strategic Business Unit, and led the group as Senior Vice President.
Ajit was close associate of Sam Pitruda
C-SAM was acquired by Mastercard Inc. in 2014. He led an R&D and innovation group in the Pune location of Mastercard, and also worked as a Consultant with Mastercard Labs, Pune.
In 2019, he joined Finablr Technologies as Global Head of Innovation. He retired in 2020 and is currently associated with a couple companies as a Mentor.
Dr. Karnik has over 48 years of professional experience covering senior management, and setting up teams & organizations for R&D, Product Development, and Innovation in advanced technology areas. His areas of interest include Innovation and R&D in Mobile computing, Advanced Computing, Parallel Processing, Digital Signal Processing, Telecommunications, Computer based Real-Time systems, Robotics, Software Security, Digital Payments, Smartcard technologies, and IoT systems.
He is a co-owner of a number of patents in some of the areas mentioned above. Pl refer enclosed a list of his Patents

_URSI Regional Conference on Radio Science (RCRS) is a biennial flagship conference of the Indian Radio Science Society (InRaSS) and covers the broad research areas of URSI’s Ten Scientific Commissions. This year 6th URSI-RCRS was organized by Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) and Graphic Era Hill University (GEHU). The conference was held at GEHU, Bhimtal from 22nd to 25th October 2024. URSI have significantly popularized the multi disciplinary research involving the radio science community
